The Barbuda Express company, operating since 2004, was the first ferry service established in our twin island nation. For over two decades, we have welcomed over 100,000 tourists and been the go-to transportation for Antiguans and Barbudans.
We have a fleet of 3 vessels: the Barbuda Express catamaran, our gem and very first vessel, as well as the Typhoon Express and Leeward Express, monohulls which carry both passengers and large cargo.
Our wave-piercing vessels have a journey time of approximately 90 minutes each way between the islands. Barbuda is a magical destination and a beautiful experience for any traveller. The island is distiguished by its flat geography, white and pink sand beaches, azure seas, Frigate Bird Sanctuary, and miles of nature. Although a must see, the journey to Barbuda can be strenuous given the time on the sea.
The changing weather patterns can sometimes result in rough seas, causing motion sickness to some persons. In the interest of safety for all passengers and crew, our Captains constantly monitor the weather conditions and may cancel trips whenever necessary. However, our vessels are used interchangeably for a safe comfortable journey.
